In less than a week, I’m going to be headed to the Killer Nashville Conference in Nashville, TN. I’m excited to be going for the second time because the last time I attended Killer Nashville (in 2011), I came away with a renewed fire, great information, and some new friends.  It was in August that year, and it really gave me the boost that I needed to finish the first novel in my Biloxi Series – Biloxi Sunrise.

This year, I’m hoping to come away with the same fire. I’ve been working on the next book in the Biloxi series for about 4 years now.  Much longer than I had planned to take to write and produce it.  It seems that every time I get really focused on it, something earth-shaking arises.  The year I had planned to release it, my mom developed late stage 4 cervical cancer and passed away shortly after.  It rocked my world.

When I finally settled enough to get back to writing, we learned that my son also had cancer.  He’s now cancer free, but it was a long battle for him that lasted more than a year and half. And that rocked my world even more violently.

Biloxi Blue - Book 2 in the Biloxi Series by Jerri L Ledford

So, here I am.  Finally settling back into what I love the most – writing fiction. And I’m dusting off the second book in the Biloxi series (Biloxi Blue – Isn’t that cover stunning?).  I’ve also discovered there is a novella between Biloxi Sunrise and Biloxi Blue. I hope to have the novella out by Christmas, and I hope the energy from the Killer Nashville conference will get me there.

The other exciting part of attending Killer Nashville this year is that I’m going to be a panel leader for two panels at the conference – Do It Yourself Publicity and Self-Publishing Timeline. We have a great line-up of authors for both panels, and we’ll be covering some interesting topics.

I hope you’ll join us at Killer Nashville. I’d love to meet you, so please feel free to come up to me at any point and say hi!

Comment below and let me know if you’re coming, and if you’re planning to attend either the Do It Yourself Publicity  or Self-Publishing Timeline panels and there’s something specific you would like to learn about.
